About the role

Deque Systems is a global leader in digital accessibility. Our India Developer Services team sits at the heart of how we build, automate, and continuously improve accessibility tooling for some of the world's largest digital products. We are looking for a Senior Developer who will take technical ownership of our browser extension and AI-powered tooling, drive engineering quality, and help shape how accessibility auditing evolves with modern AI.

This is a hands-on technical role. You will write and review code, design solutions, mentor a junior developer, and collaborate directly with senior consultants and clients. What you will do

•       Lead design, development, and maintenance of our Chrome browser extension used by accessibility consultants.

•       Architect and build AI-powered features — integrating LLM APIs, developing MCP servers, and creating intelligent automation layers that reduce manual testing effort.

•       Own the full development lifecycle for assigned workstreams: planning, implementation, testing, and release.

•       Review code and provide substantive technical guidance to junior team members; set and maintain coding standards for the team.

•       Work closely with the Leadership and senior consultants to translate accessibility requirements into engineering solutions.

•       Drive POC development during aggressive sprints with tight timelines; take initiative when requirements are ambiguous.

•       Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks; introduce relevant advances into the team's workflow.

•       Contribute to internal tooling, automation pipelines, and reporting infrastructure used by the wider services team.

What we are looking for

•       5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong full-stack web foundation.

•       Deep proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, and Node.js; hands-on experience with Chrome Extension APIs is a significant advantage.

•       Solid understanding of databases (relational and/or NoSQL); comfortable designing schemas and writing queries.

•       Demonstrated experience integrating AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) into production applications.

•       Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) server development, agentic workflows, or AI automation tooling.

•       Proven track record of delivering clean, well-tested, maintainable code and conducting effective code reviews.

•       Hands-on knowledge of web accessibility — WCAG guidelines, ARIA, assistive technology testing; axe-core experience is a bonus.

•       Self-driven, accountable, and comfortable taking end-to-end ownership of complex features.

•       Actively follows AI industry developments and has a habit of experimenting with new tools and models.

•       Based in Hyderabad and willing to work from our office as needed.
